Family of Septembrants

Sept 3 - My sister's birthday just passed without any fuss in the family. Hubby and I got to treat her for dinner at least.
Sept 7 - My birthday was a simple lunch at Palaisdaan. What's great that day was hubby's surprise of some color-coordinated swim gear. Thanks a bunch sweetie! Love it!
Sept 19 - Then it was the most awaited birthday lunch for my cousin. She cooked several amazing dishes and fed some 30 hungry relatives. We got to visit the farm later that afternoon too.
Sept 28 - Mom's Birthday Surprise Breakfast: make your own deli sandwhiches
We had multi-grain bread, cream cheese with garlic, tuna spread, chicken and beef pate, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, honey-mustard dressing, mayonnaise, fruit jams, hazelnut spread, chicken macaroni soup, ham and tomato omelette.
It was a weekend full of surprises for my Mom as each of us, her kids, planned out the meals from Saturday lunch to Sunday lunch. The goal was for her to not to lift a finger as we, her children take care of the meals, including setup and cleanup. Part of the surprise are three baskets of goodies, mostly from Healthy Options. Since the rush to the hospital for an attack of high blood pressure, my Mom's recovery had been slow. She got tired easily just by talking and she would catch her breath just by going around the house. She's stronger now and as we surprised her during her birthday weekend, I can say that she felt a whole lot better.

Sept 30 - I admit having missed greeting my nephew during his birthday so we brought chicken and joined them for dinner the next day to make up. He of course created another wonderful light sauce pasta dish matched with a huge maki variety plate. Yum!
