Walkin' on Sunshine

Manila's heat can get me down, down, down. Tis the season for airconditioning, sun glasses and sun block. But it also brings really great memories of halo-halo, the outdoors, and the lazy afternoons eating mangga with bagoong. It was just one summer ago when I met my beau and now everything's gone 360! We're really looking forward to the beach for our honeymoon. It's probably the best treat after months of preparing for the big day.

Yes, finally, I'm happy! :)

Playing with Palettes

If you want to skip the hassle, then just go with flow. When I received my first bridal mag last November, we found it easy to choose our motiff: lilac, sage and sky. It sounds and looks fresh and it reflects our love for the colors of the outdoors. it was perfect for a garden reception.

Given this, we made a final stake on the giveaways at the Garden House in Quezon City. We figured that it will go well with the color theme.

Our first decisive moment was in finalizing the invitation. I guess the designs that each of us liked were far too different. While deciding on the look, we found a wonderful paper (metallic gold) that hit us right on the spot. We loved it but we had to find another printer. Paperworks catered to our needs and even though the shade was a bit off from the original, it was good enough for us to work with.

I crammed and looked over the internet to see if the color gold and lilac would work. I still wasn't at ease. I did find a page or two in another bridal mag working on those colors and it worked. But it's too strong that it doesn't seem to fit for a summer wedding.

At the florist, it turns out that my preferred shades of lilac and purple are hard to find. But she's given some hope that it could still work if we'd match it with fuscia.

The trip to the dressmaker was the turning point. I told her about the invite and the colors lilac and fuscia. I showed her the dresses for the entourage and she was more than helpful inhelping me finalize the color theme. So it's champagne and purple. She's even warned me that it will look white on camera since those textiles behave differently oncam.

Regardless, I'm happy and my beau's not twitching anymore. He seems pleased as I managed to do away with the screaming shade of gold and fuscia. In as much as I would enjoy those loud colors, I'm still pleased with how it all turned out. Now I'm just keeping my fingers crossed, hoping that the textile of those particular shades are available.

Now i'm thinking of details.. souvenir tags, misalette, etc.

Shutting Doors

Most of us think that we're doing the right thing. Problem is, we only think about what's right for us. A simple gesture could mean a lot. You'd be surprised on the impact of your words. I'm afraid that I could never be understood. And that I will forever be frustrated with you. Why do I still hope after all these years? I can't wait to rid myself for you. Perhaps it'll finally do you good.

I remain forever distant.
