How I Wonder

Everything grows rounder and wider and weirder, and I sit here in the middle of it all and wonder who in the world you will turn out to be.

Money Talk

Economic slowdown, recessions, I’ve had just about enough of all these news on the slump that business people are saying. It seems that the more positive aspects like the resiliency of the Pinoy market, our recent wins in robotics and the arts just didn’t make it worthy for the headlines. Despite all the negative news, I noticed that people I know are still going about their bit as if nothing’s changed. Spending habits for some may have eased a bit, but for many, especially the younglings, splurging their bonuses on holiday purchases still seemed ok.

“Many people have been brainwashed to think that millionaires have to wear Gucci, Hugo Boss, Rolex, and sit on first class in air travel. This is why so many people never become rich because
the moment that earn more money, they think that it is only natural that they spend more, putting them back to square one.”

I agree with guy who wrote the quotation. What really matters is that you enjoy what you do and that money just happened to be a by product of it. I noticed now that I can still enjoy a great meal, scenic views, and a leisurely time in Manila’s posh CBD without straining my wallet. I save more now and have learned much in being frugal. Maybe marriage changed my perspective, and being pregnant transformed me even more.

Name Game

Nicolas, Summer, Jacob, and Lucia. These are supposedly what we'll be naming our kids. Now we need to think of something else?! Argh!

It's not easy to find the perfect name. How's Franco or Francesca? They mean freedom in Latin and Italian. Whatabout Amihan, Agapito, Crysta or Razzly? Hay!

Save na yan ha!

What to Expect When Expecting

http://www.mamashealth.com/book/preg2.asp is where I got the excerpt below from the popular pregnancy book: What to Expect When Expecting.

Emotionally:

Instability comparable to premenstrual syndrome, which may include irritability, mood swings, irrationality, weepiness
Misgivings, fear, joy, elation
any or all of these

What You May Be Concerned About: Fatigue

In some ways, your pregnant body is working harder even when you're resting than a nonpregnant body is when mountain-climbing; you just can't see its efforts. For one thing, it's manufacturing your baby's life-support system, the placenta, which won't be completed until the end of the first trimester. For another, it's adjusting to the many other physical and emotional demands of pregnancy, which are considerable. Once your body has adjusted and the placenta is complete (around the fourth month), you should have more energy. Until then, you may need to work fewer hours or take a few days off if you're really dragging. But if your pregnancy continues normally, there is absolutely no reason why you shouldn't stay at your job (assuming your doctor hasn't restricted your activity and/or the work isn't overly strenuous or hazardous; see page 72). Most pregnant women are happier and less anxious if they keep busy.

Since your fatigue is legitimate, don't fight it. Consider it a sensible signal from your body that you need more rest. That, of course, is more easily suggested than done. But it's worth a try.

Baby Yourself.
