Extended Lunch
Ah, post Christmas nostalgia.
I had a lunch date with my Jewelmer girlfriends. Conversations went between the engagement, weddings, tasks left in the office and where to go to after. The girls haven't changed a bit. I kind a miss it, sitting with them, listening and learning a new gossip. Showbiz!
Lunch was quick, it was the waiting that took a while. I went to the bookstore after, and bumped into our country manager. After saying a quick hi, I found the computer labels that i needed. After making the purchase, i went straight back to the office. As soon as the elevator opened, I saw our country manager again in our floor. Surprised and amused, she said "Karen, kung alam ko lang na babalik ka rin dito, sana pala sumabay ka na sa kin." :) She's really nice. Now i'm thinking whether it's necessary for me to inform her that I'm moving to a different company.
I'm seeing my beau tonight. He'll help me find a birthday gift for Dad. Then I'm off South again by tomorrow.
Some Crazy Shit
I love that bungisngis look. It's like we have something mischievous in mind. Hmm. That was just after the long conversation between my Dad and my beau. I was amused with how the conversation went. Like a kid watching a movie. I was smiling (nakangisi) behind his back. He was very articulate and expressed all his good intentions. There were a lot more that he would've wanted to say, but due to an extreme case of nervousness, plus my Dad's lengthy sermons, he didn't manage to say everything that he wanted to say. But i guess my parents were already convinced.
I never thought that getting married can be this complicated with all the traiditions and questions that you need to address. Yep, i know it's a serious thing but it need not be complicated i guess.
So all's been well. We've been blessed and we've been happier now that the load's off. It's just the nitty gritty practical stuff that we need to attend to.
Just a week ago, here i go again with another life-changing surprise. I filed my resignation and have accepted a seemingly good offer. I'm now juggling between work, turonover, the wedding, and my training for the new job. I start in January.
Looking back, well, i could say.."so what's new?" It's often two or three things happening all at the same time. I'm glad that friends and family are always supportive of my crazy stints. Well, at least now there's this one guy who's volunteered to stick around for good as I go about making all these crazy choices. My future hubby's probably getting used to it by now. It's going to be a rollercoaster so might as well sit back and enjoy the ride!
